It all begins with an idea. I found myself homeless with way too much time on my hands so I started wrapping scrap wire around various rod sizes and using a pair of pliers and a leatherman I began creating chains.
Eventually I connected with VA and spent 18 months in the PRRC program working on my mental health and getting my life back together. Through all that time I found chainmail to be my peaceful place. A thing I could do amidst all the chaos.
I promised myself that when I could I would give back, so I’ve created a program to teach veterans to weave chainmail. Each kit provides a bracelet project, instructions, 2 pairs of pliers, and extra practice rings.
If you; like me, find the arts to be therapeutic and would like to help a veteran please donate a kit today.
